Use cases

Built for real image translation workflows

PDF uploads are translated through a document workflow and return a PDF file. They no longer use the image generation model.

Scanned PDF pages

Translate pages that were scanned or exported as image-heavy PDF content.

PDF screenshots

Upload screenshots from a PDF viewer when the page text is part of an image.

Forms and notices

Understand page labels, instructions, notices, and scanned document blocks.

PDF output

Download a translated PDF result instead of an image.

01

Upload a PDF

Upload a PDF file, scanned PDF, or exported page image.

02

Extract page text

The system reads native PDF text first and uses OCR when text is embedded in images.

03

Translate with a document model

PDF and document files use a text/document translation model, not an image generation model.

04

Download the translated PDF

Save a translated PDF result.

Layout matters

PDF translation, not image generation

PDF uploads are translated through a document workflow and return a PDF file. They no longer use the image generation model.

Native PDF text is handled first. Scanned or image-heavy PDFs use OCR and may produce a simpler translated PDF when the original has no selectable text.

Best results and limits

  • Complex PDF desktop publishing
  • Fillable PDF form fields
  • Encrypted PDFs
  • Very large PDFs

Uploaded PDF pages are processed temporarily. Avoid uploading highly sensitive documents.

FAQ

Questions before you upload

Can I translate a scanned PDF to English?+

Yes. Upload a scanned or image-heavy PDF and download a translated PDF result.

Does it translate native text-only PDFs?+

Yes. Native selectable PDF text is extracted before translation when available.

Can I upload a PDF file directly?+

Yes. Upload a PDF file directly. You can also upload a screenshot or exported page image.

Will the PDF layout be preserved?+

Native text blocks are replaced in-place where possible. Scanned PDFs may produce a simpler translated PDF because OCR has less layout information.

How are PDF pages charged?+

PDF pages are billed separately from normal images: standard PDF translation is 20 credits per page, text-only is 5 credits, and high quality is 30 credits.
